Abstract: Consistent with Guy Hocquenghem's reluctance in Le désir homosexuel (1972) to identify fully as a homosexual while being one, his travel guide entitled Le gay voyage (1980) uses the trend of gay tourism while denouncing its contributions to capitalism and normativity. Focusing on the entries dedicated to New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, this article shows how the guide politicizes the ways in which homosexuals in the United States have been inventing new ways of life, which, in the words of Jack Halberstam, elaborate queer understandings of time and space that can inspire the aftermath of the sexual revolution while resisting homonormativity.
Résumé: En conformité avec la réticence de Guy Hocquenghem à s'identifier totalement à un homosexuel tout en étant un dans Le désir homosexuel (1972), son guide Le gay voyage (1980) s'appuie sur le phénomène du tourisme gay tout en dénonçant sa contribution au capitalisme et à la normativité. En se concentrant sur les entrées dédiées à New York, San Francisco et Los Angeles, cet article montre comment le guide politise les façons dont les homosexuels ont inventé aux États-Unis de nouveaux modes de vie qui, d'après Jack Halbertam, élaborent des perspectives queers du temps et de l'espace qui peuvent inspirer l'après "révolution sexuelle" tout en résistant à l'homonormativité.
